グリンランド遊園地 - Greenland Amusement Park

At the end of March I was invited to tag along to the local amusement park. Now, seeing as how Kumamoto is not a huge city, I wasn't expecting a huge park. Japanese people think on a whole different scale (so different to the dinky playgrounds we sometimes have in Latvia). This place was so huge, I couldn't see where it ends. I've never been to Disney World or other such grand places, so I can't compare, but Greenland Amusement Park is by far the biggest I have ever seen.

Our first ride. Shiv is surely going to get eaten.

The entrance to the ride was a gigantic dinosaur head.

This is another part of the dinosaur ride that I snapped later in the day. There were actually sakura trees blooming inside the ride. When we whooshed by in our cart, it smelled so good.

We spotted this ride and obviously had to try it. I was so scared! It felt like I had no support or secure fastening or anything. I had my eyes closed most of the time. It actually felt really good. By the end I managed to open one eye to look around. :D I am so amazing...

I believe this ride was called Megaton Twist or something to that effect. I took one look at it and decided it was a pass. However, Shiv and his students loved it so much they rode it 10 times.

Same ride from the ferris wheel.

I wanted to make a short video of the ride, but I accidentally deleted half of the footage. But I guess you can still get the general idea.

This was a ride from hell for me. I'm pretty sure everyone else enjoyed it. Unfortunately, the fastenings were extremely uncomfortable for me. I banged my head on the sides multiple times and scratched my ear and cheek on the side of the handles. By the end I was in tears.
I actually found many rides in the park that I enjoyed, but I didn't get any pictures.

We stumbled across a Miku museum.

The last ride I decided to take was the ferris wheel. Because that is what you do.

One side of my cabin was sort of foggy? I couldn't see through it very well.

I took way too many photos of myself. In my defense I was alone and a bit bored.

You can sort of see some of the rides through the hazy window.

I really wanted to ride the merry-go-round, but didn't get a chance. Maybe next time.

I want ride into the sunset :))))))

We spent a whole day there and it was pretty fun, even though I managed to burn my nose. I want to come again in the summer to try out the water rides.
